If you're older than 30 or so, you probably remember playing with Linclon Logs as a child. They were a uniquely American toy which seemed to capture all that was wholesome from our country's frontier past. Sadly, if you search for Linclon Logs today, you'll find they're made in China with a high proportion of plastic pieces.
But take heart! For there's a tiny company in Maine called Roy Toy that's been making their own version of the log construction toy on and off since the 1930's. We think they're the best log toys available. Not only are the logs more classic looking, they also fit together much tighter and make structures that are much larger than most other log building sets. Roy Toy still uses pine logs, which are stained with a non-toxic dye and have red wooden gables and green wooden roof planks. These are the real deal. And, with 140 pices, it's priced the same as the China-made 115 piece Lincoln Logs tin. Go figure.
Recommended ages 3+. Made in USA.
