We like the ergo because it balances your baby's weight on both shoulders, so your hips won't be canted by the weight of a baby on one side of your body. It's also the best way to carry a baby or toddler on your back. The disadvantage is that, like a quality hiking backpack, the Ergo has a number of buckles and straps that require connecting and adjusting each time you use it. So, it's not as quick to take on and off as a sling. If you're going to be wearing your baby for more than half an hour, though, it's definitely worth it.
