The thought of a celebrity recording an album of kid's music in 1975 might have made us cringe--there's so many bad examples out there. The fact that Johnny Cash recorded such an album and filled it with simple, folksy, and honest songs is surely a testament to his integrity as a songwriter.

Recently reissued on CD, this album is a treasure for parents and Cash fans alike. As his son John Carter Cash writes in the liner notes, the dark side of Johnny Cash is "real and significant, but there is another side that is just as true...The big kid."

We fell in love with this album on our first listen. We hope you will, too.
